Yao Jui-Chung, (b. 1969) originating from Taipei, is a Taiwanese artist who is a master of various mediums, including painting, photography, installations, as well as video. His diverse collection of works vary in theme and aesthetic, though they are all rooted in the desire to highlight the senselessness of human existence. His works, such as his landscape paintings, reframe traditional Chinese aesthetics by using vibrant colors and gold leaf, as well as embedding contemporary subjects and elements into the composition, emphasizing the beauty of nature and its condition in the present day.  His repositioning of conventional visuals reveals a critique of the human condition, encouraging the viewer to reexamine their own societal experience. His work has been widely celebrated and exhibited globally, with numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as being showcased in various institutions and fairs. Currently, he is an associate professor at the National Taiwan Normal University Department of Fine Arts, and is on the Board of Directors of The National Culture and Arts Foundation.
